300 Movie: The following content is regarding the 2006 movie. For 2014 follow up, see 300: Rise of an Empire.

The 300 movie is a 2006 American time actions movie which based mostly on the 1998 comic series of the related identity by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley.

Each of those is fictionalized retellings of the Battle of Thermopylae within just the Persian Wars. The film was directed by Zack Snyder,

while Miller made as executive producer and advisor/consultant. It was recorded largely with a super-imposition chroma key strategy,

to support imitate the symbolism of the classic comic publication.

The 300 movie story orbits about King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), who guides 300 Spartans into a challenge against the Persian “God-King”

Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his penetrating military services of more than 300,000 soldiers. As the fight acrimonies,

Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) tries to move help and support in Sparta for her life partner. The storyline is framed by a voice-over story by the Spartan brave soldiers Dilios (David Wenham).

Throughout this story approach, many different fantastical beings are presented, positioning 300 within the genre of famous fantasy.

The superb and full of action 300 movie was made available in both standard and IMAX movies building/theatres,

in the United States on March 9, 2007, and on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and HD DVD on July 31, 2007. The movie has been given confident reviews from experts,

which added encouragement for its unique graphics, design, and style but critique for its interpretation of the Persians,

which some described as bigoted or Iranophobic. Even so, the movie was a box office achievement, grossing over million,

and the film’s beginning was the 24th-largest in box office record at the time period. A follow-up, titled Rise of an Empire,

established on Miller’s previously-unpublished graphic novel prequel Xerxes, was coming up with on March 7, 2014.
